SHAH ALAM (29 March, 2008) – Malaysia have qualified for the final round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship after winning their Group A qualifiers this week.
Malaysia, alongside Taiwan will play in the AFC meet in Bangkok on 11-18 May 2008 after coming in as the first and second team in the group. The Malaysian team drew 4-4 with Vietnam in their opening game before beating Maldives 9-4. They then completed their fixtures with a 7-4 victory over Taiwan in their last match of the group. In the meantime, another Asean representative Indonesia are still in the running for a place in the final round after beating Brunei 10-1 in their second match in Group B. However, Indonesia did not have the best of start in their first game in the group when they conceded a 4-2 loss to Macau. They still have matches against Qatar and Kuwait to play for. |
