KOTA BARU (19 June 2011) – Malaysia scored a 2-0 win over Myanmar in a friendly that was played at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru.
The Malaysians scored their first goal in the first half through Amirulhadi Zainal in the 28th minute before doubling their lead after the break off Baddrol Bakhtiar in the 55th minute.
The game is being used as a tune-up for both teams as they prepare to take part in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers at the end of the month – with Malaysia set to take on Chinese Taipei while Myanmar will play Mongolia.
The first-leg match will be played on 29 June 2011 while the return tie will be on 3 July 2011.
