JAKARTA (10 Sept 2012) – The Malaysian Under-23 team scored a morale boosting 1-0 win over their Indonesian counterparts on the first day of the SCTV Cup last night.
In the game that was played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, the home team took every opportunity to go forward but the Malaysian backline stood firm to deny them at every avenue.
However, the visitors just needed one chance and it came in the 43rd minute when T. Reuben blasted in from inside the box to beat Indonesian custodian Ajisaka.
Under pressure, Indonesia tried to get back into the game in the second half but all without success as they wasted several chances on a trot to give the Malaysians the win.
