KUANTAN (14 Sept 2013) – The Malaysian Under-23 squad have won the 41st Merdeka Tournament after defeating Myanmar 2-0 at the Darul Makmur Stadium tonight.
The win marked the tenth time Malaysia have lifted the once prestigious trophy with Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
In the meantime, the Singapore Under-23 squad finally found the back of the net at the Merdeka Tournament, edging Thailand 2-1 in the third-fourth classification tie.
