Madura United
JAKARTA (19 April 2017) – PSM Makasaar took the early lead in the newly-launched Indonesia Liga 1 this week when they beat Persela Lamongan 3-1 at the Andi Mattalatta Stadium on the weekend.
The team under Robert Albert – the former head coach of Sarawak in the Malaysian Super League – underlined their determination with the fastest goal, just under a minute from Reinaldo da Costa.
Wiljam Pluim added the second goal after 21 minutes as M Rahmar then blasted in the third goal with four minutes remaining of the first half,
Two red cards later – on Aaang Suparman from Persela and then Ferdinand Sinaga on Makassar – saw Persela finally finding the back of the net through Ivan Carlo (88th minute).
In the meantime, Madura United take up second spot with a 2-0 victory over Bali United at the Gelora Ratu Pamelingan Stadium.
Bayu Gatra Sanggiawan gave Madura United the lead after 32 minutes when he latched on to a cross from Slamet Nur Cahyo.
The change for striker Peter Ozase Odemwingie at the hour mark gave Madura United more pace and they then doubled the advantage when he converted a penalty in the 78th minute for a handball offense.
Elsewhere, Persipura Jayapura held Gresik United 1-1, Pusamania Borneo FC drew with PS TNI 2-2 as Semen Padang were also deadlocked 1-1 against Sriwijaya FC.
Persiba Balikpapan lost 2-0 to Persija Jakarta as Barito Putera beat Mitra Kukar 2-1 while Persib Bandung were held scoreless by Arema FC.
