SINGAPORE (7 June 2011) – The recently revamped Singapore national side will take on Maldives in a friendly tonight at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Radojko Avramovic, the chief coach of Singapore, thanked the Maldives team for coming on such short notice and affirmed that they are a strong opposition to play against.
He also said that he is looking forward to give the new players a chance to showcase their skills.
“We have only started preparations and this game will allow me the chance to take a look at some of the new players. Maldives is a good opposition to play against and will provide us with a good test to see where our team is at,” said Radojko (left of pix).
The Maldives team has been in good form of late with some positive performances in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.
Maldives chief coach Diego Andres Cruciani played down his team’s unbeaten run and asserted that his team is looking forward to the match against the Lions.
“We have only had two days to prepare and I do not know much about the Singapore team so we will go out there and do our best,” said Cruciani.
Tickets for the match which kick-off at 1930hrs have been priced at SGD6.00 (Adult) and SGD1.00 (Student/ Senior Citizen) and will go on
Sale at the North and South Entrance of the stadium from 6pm onwards.
