SINGAPORE (17 Nov 2014) – Singapore head into next week’s title defence of the AFF Suzuki Cup on a high after winning their last and final friendly match over Cambodia tonight.
In the match that was played at the Yishun Stadium, the Lions went ahead through Khairul Amri after just nine minutes before Cambodia replied in the 27th minute off Khuon Laboravy.
Faris Ramli restored the lead for Singapore two minutes later as Laboravy once again pulled up with the equalizer right at the half hour mark.
But two further goals from Shahril Ishak (34th minute) and then Safuwan Baharudin (37th) made sure of the 4-2 lead at the half.
No further goals were scored by either team in the second half.
For the AFF Suzuki Cup, Singapore are in Group B against Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar.
