HANOI (17 August 2009) – Vietnam prolific striker Le Cong Vinh will be heading to Portuguese club Leixoes on a loan spell.
A contract between Cong Vinh’s current T&T Hanoi and Leixoes was signed recently and where he will be heading to Portugal on 20 August 2009 for the medical test. Should Cong Vinh pass his medical, then will he get the work visa to play for Leixoes for four months – from 1 September to 31 December 2009. At Leixoes will be able to earn as much as USD 10,000 per month as compared to his current salary of 50 million Vietnam dong (USD 2,900). “There are four to five coaches in charge of this task (physical check up), with nearly ten exercises for physical testing. They use modern equipment to check the test,” said Henrique Calisto, the head coach of Vietnam. “Cong Vinh is a good player and I believe that he will pass the tests at Leixoes. I believe that Cong Vinh will play very well in Portugal.” The contract between T&T Hanoi and Leixoes SC – one of the oldest club in Portugal – is an initial step for cooperation between the two clubs. In the future, the Portuguese partner will help T&T Hanoi evaluate foreign players. |
