VIENTIANE (17 Feb 2011) – Laos could only managed a 1-1 draw with Chinese Taipei in the second-leg play-offs at the National Stadium in Vientiane tonight, signalling their failure to reach the main qualifying draw of the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.
With the drawn match, Laos conceded defeat to Chinese Taipei on a 6-3 aggregate loss – following the 5-2 beating they suffered in the first-leg play-offs last week.
In Vientiane, following a first half deadlock, it was to be the visitors who took the lead when in the 65th minute, Chen Po Liang scored.
But eight minutes to the end, Vongchiengkham Soukaphone grabbed the equaliser for the home team.
