VIENTIANE (16 Sept 2016) – Lao Premier League CEO Mano Nhouvannasak has hailed the implementation of Club Licensing Regulations in the ASEAN nation as encouraging development in Laotian football.
Representatives from 14 Lao Premier League clubs attended an AFC Club Licensing Workshop recently which aimed to ensure the implementation of the AFC Cup Club Licensing Regulations by 2018 and of the Lao Football Federation National Club Licensing Regulations by 2017.
Mano Nhouvannasak, CEO of the Lao Premier League, said: “By working together, sharing AFC expertise and pooling our efforts, we can make club licensing a major driver of football development in our country. We can improve club management, fan experience and youth football development.
“This is the first implementation of the Club Licensing Regulations in Laos. The regulations will help the clubs move towards professionalism and become more active on and off the pitch as never before.
“This is a new football revolution for Laotian football and we believe that most of the criteria will be fulfilled by the ambitious clubs. We are pleased to organise a fruitful workshop delivered by AFC development experts who give clubs great support and we are looking forward to organising more seminars and workshops for the clubs, particularly on club management and player support.”
AFC Head of Development Stuart Larman presented on AFC Development Programmes while AFC Development Officer Visakan Subramanian explained the objectives, timelines, process and criteria within the Club Licensing Regulations as well as case studies on Member Associations who have successfully implemented the Club Licensing Regulations.
