VIENTIANE (10 Sept 2012) – Laos beat the Philippines 2-1 while hosts Indonesia fall to a 2-0 loss to DPR Korea in the two friendlies that were played tonight.
In the match that was played at the National Stadium in Vientiane, both teams fought hard in the first half but they just could not break the deadlock till after the breather when the Laotian opened account in the 53rd minute off a penalty that was taken by Kanya Kounvongsa.
The match was then marred by one red card each on Laos and the Philippines in the 72nd minute of play following a near free for all in which players from both teams were involved in the punch-ups.
