VIENTIANE (8 August 2012) – Lao Police FC emerged as champions of Lao League 2012 with just a point to spare over runners-up Yotha FC.
Both Laos Police and Yotha FC grabbed 14 victories each from 18 games in the ten-team Lao League. But Laos Police won the overall crown due to having conceded one loss less than Yotha to pick up 44 points as against the latter’s 43 points.
With the win, Lao Police will play in the 2013 edition of the AFC President’s Cup.
Vientiane FC came in third with 38 points while Eastern FC will be relegated to the lower division after picking up just four points all season long.
