VIENTIANE (16 Feb 2018) – Lao Brewery Company have announced their continued backing of the Lao Football Federation (LFF) following a signing ceremony held this week at the LFF Headquarters in Huayhong Village, Chanthabouli District in Vientiane.
The LFF – Lao Brewery Company Limited partnership is for the development of the Pepsi Lao Premier League, previously known as the Lao Premier League.
The league will now be known as the Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018 season (Pepsi LPL2018).
The Lao Brewery Company Limited’s continued support for national sports events is part of the corporate social responsibility activities of the company for the betterment of society.
The Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018 season will see 8 club teams competing – Lao Toyota Football Club, Police Football Club, DK Football Club, Savan United Football Club, Army Football Club, Master 7 Football Club, Luang Prabang United Football Club and the Young Elephants Football Club.
The Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018 season will kick-off on Saturday 24th February 2018 and will take place under the 2-leg league format (each clubs will play each other twice) for a total 56-game season with weekly live broadcasts on TV Lao Channel and on MyCujoo www.mycujoo.tv/lao-
Honourable mentions for the Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018 season are two participating clubs from Luang Prabang (Luang Prabang United Football Club) and Savannakhet (Savan United Football Club).
Matches for the Pepsi Lao Premier League 2018 season will take place at 4 stadiums namely: National Stadium Km16, National University Stadium, Luang Prabang Stadium and Savannakhet Stadium.
Championship rewards will total over 1,000,000,000 kips, with the Pepsi LPL Champions being awarded 300,000,000 kips along with the Pepsi LPL trophy, 2nd place being awarded 200,000,000 kips and 3rd place being awarded 100,000,000 kips. Additional awards will be awarded to “Referee of the season”, “Highest scorer of the season” and “Coach of the season”. All 8 clubs will also receive a 50,000,000 kips grant from the Pepsi Lao Premier League organization.
The Pepsi LPL2018 champion and 1st runner-up will also stand a chance to represent Laos in next seasons’ AFC Cup, Toyota Mekong Club Championship and other invitational tournaments.
