DILI (1 Oct 2019) – Lalenok United FC won Legaue One of the Amadora League Futebol 2019 in style when they finished the season five points ahead of their nearest challenger Boavista FC Timor.
It was a great ascendency for Lalenok to win the crown after making steady promotion from Division Three in 2017 and then from Division Two in 2018.
“We have to appreciate the work and the sacrifices that have been put in by the players, teams officials and also the staff of the club,” said Lalenok FC President Pedro Belo.
“It has been a great year for us and I am looking forward to building this team to be a famous club in Timor Leste. At the same time too, we hope that we will get the recognition from the AFC.”
Lalenok picked up 30 points from 14 matches played with nine wins, three draws and two losses where other than picking up the league trophy, they also won USD 15,000 for their effort.
Boavista amassed 25 points from seven wins, four draws and three defeats as AS. Ponte Leste finished third with 23 points.
The bottom two teams – Academica FC and Alt. Ultramar – will be relegated to the lower division for 2020.
