DILI (6 July 2021) – Lalenok United from Timor Leste and Visakha FC from Cambodia have earned direct entry into Group I of the 2021 AFC Cup.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Competitions Committee decided to cancel the playoff match between the two clubs after Kaya FC-Iloilo from the Philippines secured their debut qualification for the AFC Champions League (East) group stage.
The AFC Competitions Committee made the decision after taking into consideration the absence of a standby club from the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), and as part of their commitment to ensuring the consistency and integrity of the AFC Cup 2021.
Both clubs have now qualified for the AFC Cup Group Stage with Visakha FC occupying position I1 and Lalenok United FC taking their place in I2, alongside Singapore’s Geylang International FC and Terengganu FC from Malaysia.
