YANGON (19 Dec 2011) – Striker Kyaw Ko Ko has been named the Best Player of Myanmar for the year 2011, after a successful outing for both club and country. The hardworking Ko Ko led unfancied Zeyar Shwe Myay to the runners-up spot in the Myanmar National League (MNL) 2011.
He was also an instrumental figure in Myanmar’s fabulous run at the SEA Games 2011 in Jakarta where they won the bronze after beating Vietnam 4-1.
Ko Ko edged Thiha Sithu from Ayerwaddy United into second while Yan Aung Kyaw Yangon United had to settle for third.
Meanwhile, Yangon United Striker Charles Obi won the Golden Boots award for the most goals scored in the MNL while Zaw Lin was chosen as the best Young Player of the Year.
Kanbawza won the Fair Play award as San San Maw picked up her second award for the Best Woman Footballer of the Year award. Khin Mg Win was named the Best Young Referee of the Year.
