PHNOM PENH (16 Sept 2008) – In a game which had three penalties, Komar Preah Khan Reach FC emerged victorious in the final of the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) Under-15 Championship when they beat Pailin City FC 3-2 at the National Olympic Stadium.
But it was Pailin who were the early aggressors scoring their first goal in the 23rd minute off Phim Pheanuon before Komar replied with just a minute remaining to the first half from Chan Vathanaka. A penalty early in the second half which was converted by Top Phany saw Pailin taking a 2-1 lead before Komar restored parity in the 65th minute from their first penalty which was converted by Im Phanith. The game went into higher gear after that and the second penalty for Komar would prove pivotal as Sosk Samnang blasted them to the overall crown. The only downside to the final was the red card for Pailin’s Phuong Sophat in the 74th minute. In the meantime, Prek Pra Keila FC took third place in the tournament when they beat Takeo Province FC 5-2 in an earlier match. Prek Pra Keila’s goals were scored by You Rafat in the 4th and 73rd minute, Sam Sory (19th minute) and Uk Muslim (60th and 65th).
