YANGON (22 Jan 2012) – The big news to come out of Yangon this week would be the intended trials for SEA Games 2011 bronze medallist Kyaw Ko Ko with German Bundesliga side FC Nuremberg.
An official from Zeyar Shwe Myay FC – Ko Ko’s current club – confirmed the offer this week and if should he make the cut, Ko Ko will be the first ever player from Myanmar to play in Europe.
It is understood that FC Nuremberg have indicated their willingness to pay the USD500,000 for his transfer fees should he impress selectors. Zeyar Shwe Myay have already informed the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) about the offer.
The 19-year-old Ko Ko was awarded the best player in Myanmar for 2011 when he scored five goals to help Myanmar win the bronze medal in Jakarta.
FC Nuremberg are currently playing in the top flight of the German Budesliga. They have won the title nine times previously.
