KUALA LUMPUR (29 August 2017) – Indonesia staged a fabulous fight back from a goal down to beat Myanmar 3-1 as they landed the bronze medal for KL2017 tonight.
In the match that was played at the Selayang Stadium, striker Than Paing gave Myanmar the lead with a close range effort after 21 minutes for them to troop off confident into the break.
But the second half was all Indonesia as the pep talk from head coach Luis Milla cajoled the team into action with striker Septian David Maulana snapping up two quick goals in the 56th and 58th minutes.
All fired up, defender Muhd Rezaldi Hehanusa then slapped in a gem of a goal from 30 metres out to beat outstretched Myanmar keeper Sann Sat Naing in the 76th minute.
Although Myanmar tried to close the gap, Indonesian keeper Satria Tama Hardiyanto kept things tight at the back to make sure of the bronze.
