PHNOM PENH (10 August 2009) – Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC bounced back from their midweek defeat to Naga Corp FC to score a thumping 6-2 win over Build Bright United in the Cambodia Premier League 2009 at the National Olympic Stadium on the weekend.
Kirivong, who are jostling to finish the season at the top half of the table, fought hard to take a 2-0 lead at the half with goals from Ly Ravy in the 25th minute and then Vinh Nhik Treung’s first of his three goals in the game four minutes later. J. Chukwumeka then added Kirivong’s third goal in the 65th as Nhik Treung then completed his hat-trick with goals in the 70th and 80th minute. O. A. Ogbeide’s two quick strikes in the 88th and 89th minute did gave Build Bright some semblance of respect but Mim Sophal then rounded of a grand afternoon for Kirivong with the fifth and final goal deep in injury time. The win has put Kirivong on sixth at the standings with 18 points from 14 matches while Build Bright are a rung lower. In the meantime, Naga Corp FC scored their second win within a week with a 3-1 victory over Phouchung Neak FC. With the score tied at the half, Chin Chum then gave Naga Corp the lead in the 46th minute before Kop Isa then added the second goal in the 79th minute. Phouchung pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute through M. W. Weyinmi before an own goal from Tuy Sam two minutes to the end completed the win for Naga. Naga are still fourth in the standings while Phouchung remained stuck at the bottom of the heap. |
