BANGKOK (1 Dec 2011) – The FA of Thailand (FAT) have confirmed that the King’s Cup will be held on 15-22 January 2012 in Bangkok after a year’s absence.
The 42nd edition of the King’s Cup will see Denmark, Norway and South Korea taking on hosts Thailand in the tournament – as part of celebration of His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday.
The tournament will also be used as a warm-up for the Thai national side who will face Oman in a 2014 World Cup qualifiers in February.
The King’s Cup was first held in 1968 with the exception of 1983, 1985, 2008 and 2011.
Denmark League XI were the winners in 2009 and 2010.
