PETALING JAYA (18 Jan 2016) – Malaysian interim coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee have been elevated to the full-time hot seat in Malaysian football when he was announced as the new head coach this afternoon at Wisma FAM.
The shortlisted candidates for the top job were Kim Swee, former Sarawak coach Robert Alberts and also former JDT coach Bojan Hodak.
“The deciding panel is made up from representatives from FAM, National Sports Council (MSN), National Institute of Sports Science (ISN), members of the media, the Coaching Association of Malaysian and also UiTM, who have assessed the three personalities concerned,” said FA of Malaysia (FAM) Deputy President Dato’ Abdul Mokhtar Ahmad.
“After hearing from the three candidates concerned, we have decided to choose Datuk Ong Kim Swee as the new chief coach for 2016 and 2017.”
