BANGKOK (9 Jan 2015) – Thai coach Kiatisak Senamuang has decided to keep faith with his AFF Suzuki Cup winning squad ahead of the King’s Cup which has been slated for 1-7 February.
Kiatisak, who was recently confirmed as the head coach of the Thailand national team for the next four years, has retained the likes of Charyl Chappuis and also Chanathip Songkrasin for the tournament that will be played at His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima.
“This will give us continuity in preparations for this year’s AFC Under-23 Championship, which will serve as an Olympic qualifying event,” said Kiatisak.
The other teams taking part in the meet are Croatia, South Korea and North Korea.
“The door is still open for other players to make the team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Those who perform well still have the chance of a call-up. But for the King’s Cup I want to see continuity, so I opted to pick the players from the ASEAN Championship-winning side,” he added.
