KUALA LUMPUR (11 Nov 2008) – The continued improvement of winger Khyril Muhymeen Zambri has put the smile back on Malaysian national coach B. Sathianathan as he look forward to the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 next month.
The Kedah-lad has been struggling with form of late and where his performance at the recent Merdeka Tournament has been a cause for concern. “I was a little disappointed with his performance at the recent Merdeka Tournament but I think that he has changed a lot since where he has put in a lot of work and has shown positive improvements,” said Sathianathan (pic). “I feel that he has realised that there I will never make compromise between talent and hardwork and his reaction to that has been positive.” The Malaysian national team are in Myanmar currently for the Grand Royal Challenge Cup where they are using the tournament against the likes of Vietnam and Ulsan Hyundai as part of their preparation for Asean biggest football extravaganza in December. Sathianathan believes that Khyril can make all the difference to Malaysia’s challenge in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 when Malaysia measure up against hosts Thailand, Vietnam and Laos in Group B. “The return of Khyril could not have come at a more opportune time where at the moment; we are heading into the final phase of preparation with the Grand Royal Challenge Cup,” added Sathia. |
