PHNOM PENH (2 Dec 2009) – Khmer Eysann won the FFC-Hello Futsal League 2009 when they edged out Panda FC 7-6 in their final match of the season to lift the overall crown.
The close win allowed Khmer Eysann to finish at the top of the league with just one defeat from seven matches. As champions, Khmer Eysann received 6 million riels (USD1,443) along with the 400,000 riels (USD96) for taking the Fair Play award. “It was our great honour to be this year’s champions,” said skipper Ly Vireak afterwards. “We played well with determination from start to the end.” In the meantime, Rama Holding Group won their second consecutive runners-up place after beating Olympic Youth 9-5 to take home the prize of 4 million riels (USD960). Khmer Super Red delivered a 19-5 thrashing of Tuol Sangker All Star to take third place and 2.8 million riels (USD676), with hotshot captain Suon Thun netting eight goals on his way to becoming the league’s top scorer with 30 goals and earning the 400,000 riels prize (USD96). |
