KHANH HOA ON TOP AFTER FOUR MATCHES

HANOI (10 March 2009) – After just four matches into the new V-League season, Khanh Hoa are at the top of the pecking order following their 2-0 win over Dong Thap on the weekend.

Vietnam national striker Nguyen Quang Hai and Jonathan Quartey scored a goal each for the win at Nha Trang.

In the meantime, at Hanoi’s Hang Day Stadium, hosts Hanoi T&T edged Thanh Hoa 1-0 with the solitary goal of the game coming off Laerte Junior just five minutes to the end.

Former champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai staged a remarkable fight back to edge Hai Phong 3-2 with the decisive goal coming from Brazilian striker Evaldo Goncalvez deep in injury time.

The Cong, or Army team, drew Song Lam Nghe An 1-1 in a tough away encounter at the Vinh Stadium while Nam Dinh drew Dong Tam Long An 1-1 at home.

At the Chi Lang Stadium, Da Nang beat HCM City 1-0.
