SINGAPORE (19 March 2010) – A late second half strike from Khairul Amri Li saved the day for Tampines FC to stay top of the S-League when they beat Beijing Guoan 2-1 in the match that was played at the Yishun Stadium.
But the night was almost not to be for Tampines when they fell behind to an early strike from Beijing Guoan’s Tan Tiancheng in the eighth minute. And while Tampines fought hard to find the equaliser, the score refused to budge until in the 61st minute of play when Qiu Li slammed home. Six minutes later, striker Khairul Amri nailed the winner for Tampines to pick up the full points and maintain their five-match unbeaten run. CURRENT S-LEAGUE 2010 STANDINGS 1.
