PHNOM PENH (30 March 2009) – A solitary strike from Keo Sok Ngan just after the hour mark gave defending champions Phnom Penh Crown the title in this year’s Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen Cup 2009.
Sok Ngan’s goal from just inside the penalty box was enough to edge Naga Corp FC, who had to settle for the second spot following the 1-0 loss in the final at the National Olympic Stadium. The win allowed Phnom Penh Crown to take home the USD 17,000 prize money on offer while Naga Corp raked in USD 9,700 for their effort. The top scorer for this year’s championship went to Kouch Sokumpheak from Ranger FC while best goalkeeper award went to Hem Simay from Build Bright United. Both players received USD 243 for their excellent performance. |
