KUALA LUMPUR (2 May 2011) – Malaysia Cup champions Kelantan took the lead in the Malaysian Super League 2011 when they comfortably beat Kuala Lumpur 2-0 at the Sultan Muhammed V Stadium.
Skipper Mohd Badri Radzi was on target in the 24th minute while S. Chanturu slammed home the second goal for the east coast side in the 79th minute.
The win has allowed Kelantan to take the top spot in the Malaysian Super League with 33 points – the same with defending league champions Selangor – but on better goal difference.
In the other matches, T-Team were held scoreless by Pahang at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu while Felda United battled Negeri Sembilan to a 2-2 draw at the Kuala Lumpur Bolasepak Stadium in Cheras.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead through Mohd Shukor Adan (43rd minute) and Mohd Firdaus Azizul (47th minute), they allowed Felda to come back into the game with goals off Mohd Nizaruddin Yusof (57th minute) and Mohd Lot Hassan (84th minute).
Up north at the Main Stadium in Kangar, Perlis conceded their third defeat on a trot when they went down 3-1 to Harimau Muda A.
They had previously conceded a 2-1 loss to Pahang and 4-0 defeat to Kelantan.
At the JCorp Stadium, Johor FC scored a comfortable 3-0 win over Sabah.
