ALOR STAR (10 Feb 2018) – Malaysian Super League side Kedah have snapped up Indonesian super star Andik Vermansyah ahead of five other teams, all eager for his signature.
“I am glad to be back playing in the M-League. The offer from Kedah came at the right time and as a professional I will give my best to my new team. Kedah is already registered in my heart,” said Andik, who has signed a year’s contract with the Northerners.
“There were five other teams asking me to sign with them but I chose Kedah.”
Andik had previously played for Selangor for four years (2013-17).
He said that he was not able to strike a deal with his former club in Indonesia – Persebaya Surabaya.
“For me, it is Persebaya only and no other clubs in Indonesia, so that it another reason I am back in Malaysia. The Kedah offer came at the right time and I wasted no time to agree to the terms and conditions. I am happy with what we (both parties) agreed.”
Kedah will play Perak SEDC (PKNP FC) in Sunday’s Super League match at the Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang.
