PHNOM PENH (23 Jan 2020) – Malaysian side Kedah FA hit their pre-season preparation on the right note when they won the SMART RSN 2020 that was played in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Organised by Smart Axiata and Phnom Penh Crown FC, the participating teams other than Kedah were Boeung Ket FC and Angkor Tiger FC.
Kedah had opened their campaign at the RSN Stadium with a 4-1 beating of Boeung Ket FC before they followed it up with a close 1-0 win over Angkor Tiger FC.
They then wrapped up their final round robin tie with a 2-1 win over hosts Phnom Penh Crown FC.
Following a first half deadlock, striker Kipre Tchetche opened account with a header in the 66th minute as Hadin Azman then added the second goal eleven minutes later.
Lim Pisoth pulled a goal back for Phnom Pengh in the 87th minute but failed to stop Kedah from winning the tournament.
