MANILA (21 May 2013) – Kaya FC moved up in the top five of the United Football League (UFL) when they beat Loyola Meralco Sparks 3-1 to at once deliver a bump to the latter’s title hopes.
Late bloomer Kaya, who were not able to inject any consistency in the first few matches of the season, came back from a 3-2 loss to league leaders Stallion to score two wins on a trot.
Following their 3-2 win over Global FC the previous week, they came back to edge Loyola with Philippines’ Chris Greatwich scoring the lead in the 20th minute.
James Younghusband then grabbed the equalizer in the 34th minute off a cross from Byeong Yeol Jeong as Anton Del Rosario’s volley ensured Kaya the 2-1 lead at the half.
Greatwich then completed the win for Kaya with the third goal from the spot in the 57th minute for the win.
