MANILA (23 May 2018) – Kaya–Iloilo FC moved up to the top of the Philippine Football League (PFL) following their handsome 4-2 win over Davao Aguilas FC at the Iloilo Sports Complex this week.
Senegalese striker Robert Lopez Mendy was the star of the show with a hat-trick for Kaya Iloilo when he found the back of the net in the 40th, 59th and 73rd minutes.
This after Jordan Mintah had given Kaya-Iloilo the best of start with the lead after just 47 seconds into the match.
Davao Aguilas’ goals were scored by James Younghusband in the 52nd minute and Takashi Odawara in the 68th minute.
The win allowed Kaya-Iloilo to pick up 16 points from eight matches played as Ceres Negros FC are on second with 15 points but with two games in hand.
Elsewhere, Stallion Laguna FC picked up their second win two matches with a 4-1 thrashing of JPV Marikina FC.
