MANILA (13 May 2018) – Kaya Iloilo FC gave leaders Ceres Negros FC their first loss of the Philippines Football League (PFL) 2018 season when they beat the latter 2-0 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
Ceres, who is also the defending champions of the PFL, failed to stage a comeback from two first-half Kaya goals as the former went down for their first defeat in six matches.
Robert Lopez Mendy was on target for Kaya with the lead after just ten minutes, as Alfred Osei put in the second goal with five minutes remaining of the first half.
With the win, Kaya Iloilo are now on second at the standings while Ceres Negros are still at the top with 15 points from six matches played.
