MANILA (17 March 2014) – Kaya FC failed to close in on United Football League (UFL) 2014 leaders when they could only afford a drab 1-1 draw against Pachanga PLDT at the Emperador Stadium.
Following the scoreless draw at the end of an enticing first half, it was Pachanga who went ahead when Shayan Jafari fired in a low shot from a tight angle.
But Kaya substitute Miguel Tanton replied with a header from Anton Del Rosario’s long throw in the 70th minute for the final score line.
“I’m sick and tired of hopeless refereeing. The linesman half the time isn’t even looking at the ball, so how does he know it’s offside? I’m sick and tired of outcomes of games being determined by the referees,” lamented Kaya coach David Perkovic afterwards.
With just the one point, third-placed Kaya are now eight points adrift of leaders Loyola Meralco Sparks.
In the meantime, Green Archers United Globe beat Pasargad 3-1, with two goals from Villareal in the final five minutes of the tie.
