YANGON (6 May 2013) – Kanbawza took over the top spot in the Myanmar National League (MNL) when they beat Rakhine United 2-0 off two goals from Soe Min Oo.
Min Oo found the back of the net in each half of the tie (37th and 46th minute) for Kanbawza to chalk up 20 points from ten matches played.
It was not only Kanbawza who picked up the full points as defending champions Yangon United were also on the chase for the top spot where this week they disposed of Hantharwady United 2-0.
The city side made sure of the win with goals from Cezar in the 40th minute and Aung Moe in the 80th minute.
Elswehere, Zeyar Shwe Myay were held to a 2-2 draw by Ayeyawady United as Yadanarbon blasted Manaw Myay 4-0 with Kaung Si Thu scoring a hat-trick off goals in the 45th,66th and 79th minute. The other goal for Yadanarbon was score by Yan Aung Win in the 52nd minute.
Southern Myanmar fell to a 2-1 loss to Nay Pyi Taw off goals from Madengue in the 7th and 43rd minute as the home team scored their only goal of the game through Aung Ye Htut’s 18th minute strike.
