PETALING JAYA (27 April 2022) – Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, the President of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) received a visit from Juventus FC, who are eyeing a potential bilateral collaboration with the national body to develop football at the grassroots and youth level.
Juventus FC delegation was comprised of their Managing Director Federico Palomba and Partnerships Sales Manager Kelvin Leung.
Hamidin said that based on the initial discussion, the nation’s young players especially the national Under-17 team may be given the opportunity to undergo training at the Juventus Academy in Turin.
“Juventus FC are looking at opportunities to develop a football partnership program at the junior level,” said Hamidin.
“With their reputation as a European giant, this collaboration will certainly benefit Malaysian football. Juventus FC are also looking at the possibility of playing exhibition matches in Malaysia between December 2022 and July 2023.
“Juventus FC have also invited our delegation for a reciprocal visit to their headquarters and fully equipped facilities in Turin.”
Hamidin added that Juventus FC are also looking to establish a Juventus Academy in Malaysia.
“Our children especially the U10s and U12s stand the chance of pitting their skills in a high-performance environment espoused by the Juventus World Cup Academy,” Hamidin said.
“From this initial discussion, we see great potential in this joint venture which will serve as a stepping stone for our players to enhance their ability.”
