JAKARTA (7 August 2014) – Juventus proved that they do not head east just for a holiday when they pummelled the Indonesian Super League (ISL) All-Stars 8-1 in a friendly last night at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
In front of a crowd of well over 60,000, the Italian champions put up their best when they came back a goal down to beat their lesser illustrious opponents into submission.
The ISL All-Stars went ahead early in the second minute when Srdan Lopicic latched on to a corner from Gustavo Lopez to put Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon all out of sorts for the first goal of the game.
But Juventus were quick on the rebound where after drawing level through an Andrea Pirlo’s penalty just a minute later, they never looked back as the Bianconeri went ahead through Fernando Llorente in the 17th minute.
Llorente then completed his hat-trick with two more goals in the 22nd and 23rd minute as Sebastian Giovinco put Juventus comfortable 5-1 ahead at the half.
Several substitutions later saw Kingsley Coman making the score sheet in the 67th minute to be followed by two further goals from Carlos Tevez (68th minute) and Simone Pepe (89th minute).
