BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (14 Sept 2012) – Brunei bounced back from the loss they suffered against Pos Malaysia FC previously to hold MASUM (Malaysian Universities Sports Council) to a 1-1 draw in their final friendly game of the tour of Malaysia yesterday.
Julremi Zaini scored a second half equalizer in the 79th minute to cancel out MASUM’s early lead in the first half.
“This could be one of our very important matches in the preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers in October because I can see that the players started to show their commitment and discipline in the game,” said Feisal Eusoff, the national team manager of Brunei.
“Even though we only managed to draw, the players put a very good performance. They worked very hard in the game. They were resilient and look more confident with the ball this time around.”
The Sultanate side is currently preparing for the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup next month in Yangon where they will be up against hosts Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Timor Leste.
