JAKARTA (14 April 2011) – Joko Driyono has been appointed as the acting general secretary of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) – following the recent resignation of Nugraha Besoes.
In a letter which was sent to the Asean Football Federation (AFF), it was stated: “Mr. Nugraha Besoes, SE – our former general secretary has officially resigned from our association. Mr. Besoes has served the organization for more than 20 years. He has dedicated his life to Indonesian football.”
The letter which was signed by General (Retired) Agum Gumelar, former president of the PSSI who is also the chairman of the Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA, also went on to state the appointment of Joko as the acting general secretary with immediate effect.
Joko (pix) is the Chief Executive Officer of the Indonesia Super League.
The Normalisation Committee will serve as an interim until a new Council of the PSSI is appointed with the elections set for 20 May 2011.
The letter was also forwarded to international football body, FIFA.
