JAKARTA (10 Jan 2013) – Zhang Jilong, the acting president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), is expected to arrive in Jakarta today to meet up with the stakeholders of Indonesian football and look to settle the dispute between the two different factions.
Rita Wibowo, the chairperson of the Task Force, confirmed that Jilong will be in Jakarta this morning to meet up with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) and also the breakaway KPSI.
“The reason why the president of the AFC is here is to help in settling the current disputes and avoid being sanctioned by FIFA,” added Rita, who is also the chairperson of the Indonesian Olympic Council (KONI).
Indonesian football is currently in a quandary with two different factions running two football leagues in the country.
