HANOI (27 Oct 2016) – Vietnam were held to a 1-1 draw by Jeonju University in a friendly match that was played this week in South Korea.
Vietnam were in total control of the game where in the 28th minute they went ahead when Hoang Dinh Tung nodded home the corner from the left. And they continued to press their opponents for much after that but failed to find the back of the net again despite creating a string of chances.
In the 65th minute, Vietnam were made to pay for their inability to double their advantage when Jeonju grabbed the equaliser following a defensive mistake.
The friendly against Jeonju was Vietnam’s second after beating K-League’s FC Seoul 3-0 earlier.
They will then wrap up their tour of South Korea with a friendly against Pocheon, the defending champions of the K3 League.
Veitnam are preparing for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 next month where they have been placed in Group B against hosts Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia.
