JAKARTA (25 Dec 2013) – Joko Driyono, the general secretary of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have confirmed this week that the Indonesian Super League 2014 will begin on 1 February with 11 teams in each east and west conference.
“There will be two conferences for sure with 11 teams in each,” said Joko. “They will be playing on a home and away basis with the top four teams from each conference then playing the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the finals.
“All matches will be played home and away.
“In as far as promotions and relegations are concerned, the bottom two teams from each conference will be relegated to the lower First Division. In turn, only the top two teams from the First Division will be promoted.”
Joko also explained that each teams are allowed to hire four foreign players – three from outside of Asia and one from Asia. But only three players can be used in each match.
