SAMARINDA (7 Nov 2011) – The Inter-Island Cup will kick off tomorrow with three provinces – Samarinda, Lamongan and Karawang – taking part.
The Inter-Island Cup is a pre-season tournament and will be taken part by 12 clubs with several games to be shown live on Antv. Each match lasts for only 45 minutes.
The 12 clubs will be divided into four groups of three teams each.
Group A which is based in Samarinda will have Persisam Samarinda, Mitra Kukar FC and also Persiba Balikpapan while Group B are Persipura Jayapura, PSPS Pekanbaru and Deltras.
Group C based in Lamongan will have Persela Lamongan, Persiwa and also Persija Jakarta with Group D being Pelita Jaya, Persidafon and also Sriwijaya FC.
From the group stage, six teams will advance to the semi-finals slated for 24 November with the final scheduled two days later.
