BALI (Dec 20, 2007) – In spite of the relaxed atmosphere here in the resort city of Bali, it will be an intense two days for the members of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) who have converged into this holiday destination in Indonesia.
With almost two representatives from each of the 11 member countries in attendance, the participants will be discussing several important issues in the next two days as they look to map the further progression of Asean football. The meeting will begin tomorrow morning with the Competitions Committee early in the morning before the Development Committee takes over in mid-morning. The Finance Committee will then be in session after lunch before the official dinner later in the evening hosted by the Indonesian FA (PSSI). The Third AFF Council meeting will take place on Saturday where they will decide among other things the calendar for 2008 with regards to the Asean Futsal Championship, the Under-17 tournament, the Under-20 championship and also the Women’s Championship. The Council will also hear the report on the venues for the Asean Football Championship as far as the qualifiers as well as the main championship are concerned.
