JAKARTA (29 March 2015) – The Indonesian Super League (ISL) 2015 will start on 4 April, as expected.
The announcement was made this week following a meeting between the FA of Indonesia (PSSI), league organisers PT Liga Indonesia, club representatives and DPR (People’s Representative Council).
DPR also included BOPI (Board of Indonesian Professional Athletes), who had earlier denied the ISL the green light to begin the season.
“We met with DPR with the hope of explaining our position especially with regards to the five or six clubs who were given a D rating by BOPI,” said Joko Driyono, CEO PT Liga Indonesia. “So we are very happy that there is an understanding with the various parties to start the season.”
At the end of the close to two hours of meeting, DPR announced that the ISL 2015 will begin on 4 April with 18 teams taking part.
“BOP will give a certain allowance until mid-season for the six clubs concerned to meet the requirements which has been set,” added chairman H. M.Ridwan Hisyam.
