JAKARTA (Sept 26, 2007) – The Indonesia Under-23 team left for Argentina yesterday as part of their preparation for the SEA Games which will be held in Korat, Thailand in the early part of December.
The 25-man strong team is led by Indonesia head coach Ivan Kolev and where apart from training in the South American continent, they will also be playing several matches against top Argentinean clubs. Thus far, the Indonesian FA (PSSI) have confirmed matches against Boca Juniors – the former team of Argentinean great Diego Maradona – as well as the national Under-20 of Argentina. The Argentina U20 side were recently crowned world champions in Canada after beating Czech Republic 2-1 in the final in Toronto. Apart from the matches, the Indonesia U23 will also be hoping that the trip will allow Richardo Salampessy and Khomad Suharto the chance to make a fast track recovery into fitness after struggling with injuries. |
