JAKARTA (Oct 8, 2007) – The Indonesia Under-23 team will take on the U20 side of Quelmes following a disappointing defeat to CEFAR in their first friendly several days ago.
The U23 side of Indonesia which is being prepared for the SEA Games in Thailand in December, conceded a 5-1 defeat to CEFAR in their first friendly game. But the loss did not seem to affect head coach Ivan Kolev too badly where he felt that it was a little too soon to gauge the form of the players after having only recently arrived in South America. “The team is getting used to the prevailing condition here in Argentina and where the fitness work seems to be gaining ground,” added Kolev. “But I would have to say that the playing conditions here have been fantastic when compared to those which are available back home in Jakarta. “And I truly believe that the players can put up a better performance in their second friendly game next.” For the SEA Games, the Indonesian team are looking at dislodging Thailand as the kingpins at the biennial games where they have set to win the gold medal in Korat. |
