JOGJAKARTA (13 Jan 2014) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) are planning a friendly against the Brazil Under-23 team as part of the Indonesia U19 squad’s preparation for the AFC Championship later this year.
With still about nine months to go to the AFC event in Myanmar, the PSSI announced that the game against the young Brazil squad is just part of the preparation as the team looks to play 27 friendly matches in the run-up to the main event.
“As was the plan that was revealed previously, the team will play 27 friendlies all over the country over the course of the next several months,” said Joko Driyono, the general secretary of the PSSI.
“But that does not include a tour of Europe and Spain as well as a match against the Brazil U23 squad.”
The team is currently in centralized training in Jogjakarta with 29 players taking part.
