JAKARTA (8 Sept 2010) – The Indonesia national team have lined up two tough matches in October when they have been penned to play against Uruguay and Ivory Coast.
Indonesia will be one of two hosts for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 in December and as such are anxious to put up a good show and gun their first ever ASEAN crown. And following their 4-1 win over Premier Division side Persita Tangerang in their first friendly, the Indonesia squad under newly appointed coach Alfred Riedl completed their first phase of training camp this week with a comprehensive 3-0 beating of another Premier Division side, Pro Titan FC. But the game turned up to be a bruiser of sort with the man in black having little choice but to flash a total of 11 yellow cards – eight for players from Pro Titan FC. Following his two goals in the first friendly against Persita, Arif Suyono was again on target when he opened account in the 25th before veteran striker Bambang Pamungkas (pix) doubled the lead just seven minutes later. Debutant striker Mohd Isnaini from club PSPS Pekanbaru then wrapped up the game with the third goal on 75 minute. “I am still not satisfied with the level of play although it has to be pointed out that the players are not at 100% as they were fasting,” said Riedl after the game. |
